I would like to speak about, how Prayer is becoming little or nothing, or fake and faulty.
Today among the so-called believers and among the believers that don't practice but pray. Prayer is becoming ritualistic, and not spontaneous's. Sort of like the Muslims of today who bow toward Mecca at specific times daily in certain places. Prayers are becoming long filled with verbiage. People are thinking who ever says the longest prayer will be heard readily by God more oftenAnd the more well-versed the better. Also there are repetitious words and phrases. We remember reading about this in first king chapter 18 for example, O Baal, hear us! O Baal, hear us!!'And as this is what was happening in the first century the tendency crept into the synagogue .The same for today as it is creeping into all churches, temples storefront prayer houses .prayer is leading to an almost toxic kinship with words as they engage in this long practice,it falls under a bunch of meaningless words repeated over and over and over again repetitious. Praying has also became the cause of pride rather than the humble expressions of one in need. It has become legalistic "a status symbol" to pray well .The religious system, when followed to the letter, is becoming an ostentatious public display with hands outstretched, Palms up out on a public street corner!' It's any wonder prayer is losing its value? It is becoming a D generated insignificant routine marked by overt hypocrisy and meaningless terms, mixed with a judgmental spirit, prayer is on the downslope .High expectations are becoming impossible for the common person to achieve resulted in the entire act become a fleshly display proudly preformed by the religious Superman or hot shots of today. This explains why our Lord took them to task in his immortal sermom, it also helps us understand why he says what he does about prayer and other religious attitudes in Matthew chapter 6. Thank you hope to hear from you soon. Get closer to God with one verse a Day and Jesus will make that Way..Yes.
